Greetings all!
The Beyond Inhabitation Lab is excited to announce that we will be present at the RGS-IBG conference this year.
First of all, we will host a launch panel on Tuesday, 30 August (starting at 9:00, London time) to discuss the Lab’s mission and work thus far.
Subsequently, on Wednesday, 31 August, we will have 4 sessions.
- Early in the day, we have two sessions chaired by AbdouMaliq Simone (#136 starting at 9:00 and #257 starting at 11:10), both organized around the theme of “Geographies of urban inhabitation, extensions and situated resistance”.
- Later on, we have two sessions chaired by Michele Lancione (#133 starting at 14:40 and #256 starting at 16:50), both organized around the theme of “Inhabiting radical housing: on the politics of inhabitation and intersectional struggles” and sponsored by the Latin American Geographies Working Group.
Altogether, these four sessions feature the work of seventeen scholars providing a window into historical and ethnographic conceptualizations of inhabitation and related liberatory struggles globally, across all continents.
We do urge anyone in attendance at the RGS-IBG conference to join us at any and all of these Lab events. We would love to connect and talk more with you there!
